Bought a Macbook off eBay and it’s activation locked

3 days ago i had purchased a MacBook pro from a trusted seller on eBay. It was working fine for these three days until this morning activation lock had come on asking for a 6-digit-passcode. Is there anyway i can fix this?

Activation Lock is designed to keep your device and your information safe in case your Mac is ever lost or stolen. For this reason, we are unable to deactivate Activation Lock. You would need to get in touch with the previous owner. As this isn’t something we can assist with, please follow the information in this article for what to do if the iPhone is locked with the previous owners Apple ID: How to remove Activation Lock


"Remove Activation Lock on the device

Follow the onscreen steps to enter the Apple ID and password you used to set up your device or your device passcode.

Learn how to find your Apple ID or reset your Apple ID password.



Remove Activation Lock on the web if a device is offline

  1. Go to www.iCloud.com/find.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  3. At the top, click All Devices.
  4. Select the device that you want to remove from iCloud.
  5. Click Remove from Account.



Start a support request

If you need help removing Activation Lock and have proof of purchase documentation, you can start an Activation Lock support request."
