I want to pair the remote from my Apple TV 4K 3rd generation with my older Apple TV 3rd Generation
That is not going to work. The newer Siri Remote is for Apple TV (4th generation or later).
The Apple TV (3rd generation) needs an old style IR remote. Apple doesn’t sell these anymore, but some third party resellers may still have some.
