iphone and watch have different numbers.... how to fix this?

My wife has a current iphone mini and the newest apple watch model with cellular/gps. She has not been receiving calls on her watch when her phone is off or non-adjacent to her location but she is able to make calls with her watch.

After checking our ATT account I see that her watch has a separate number from her phone. when i call this number directly the watch gets the call immediately even if her phone is off.

What is the process for getting her watch and phone on the same number??

** I have gone to the att site and checked, numbersync is supposedly set up for watch and phone but it is not working. ***

Contact AT&T directly. All Apple Watches have a different number than the primary phone number. But the primary phone number should be syncing calls to the watch and that has nothing to do with the fact the watch has its own number, which is really for billing.

If the watch isn't receiving but can make calls, there is an issue on the AT&T side with how the watch was most likely configured in the the AT&T system. My brothers watch on AT&T had the same issue and it took hours with technical support to finally get the sync set up correctly. You'll likely have to do the same thing.

Just so you know, I too am on AT&T and Apple Watch Ultra has a different number from my primary phone number, but sync was set up correctly and I receive and make calls on my watch with no issues.
