I want siri to put on my favorite radio station, but only get her reply that she'can't find KERA in apple music.' I don't want music. I want the news and I cannot find the right words to say to siri to do that.

You can try "Hey Siri, play KERA provided by TuneIn". I cannot test it out here in the UK, but that incantation sometimes works.
