Removal of iPod Touch from Apple Account

What are the consequences of removing my (still being used) iPod Touch from my Apple account?

I'd like to use the new end-to-end encryption available in the iOS 16.2 update on my iPhone and iPad but when I tried to set this up on my iPhone, it said I had to delete my iPod Touch from my Apple account first. As I still use this iPod Touch, I'm hesitant to do this. Will I still be able to download new music to this iPod Touch if it's been removed from my Apple account?

I use an iPod touch that is not on my Apple ID because of lack of space on my Apple ID (or too much apple devices)

I cannot use Apple Music or download music, but I can still listen to the songs. I put on it with ripping CD

I’ve thought of another possible solution to my problem.

I have a second Apple ID that currently doesn’t have devices connected to it. Can I move my iPod Touch to this account and be able to download new music to it?

This answer tells me that I do NOT want to remove my iPod Touch from my Apple account. I still want to be able to add new music to this device; not just listen to music that’s already there.
