I have Ventura 13.1 on my iMac and MacBook. The Preview App would suddenly get stuck while I was reading a pdf file. The Preview App sometimes would suddenly highlight all contents/lines for all pages in a pdf file I was reading. Does anyone know how to fix these problems?

If you select a highlight color and then immediately press ⌘+A to select all text, then every word in the PDF will receive that highlight color. There is no convenient undo (e.g. ⌘+Z). You will have to pick the first highlighted word on each page and right-click, then choose the Remove highlight menu item.
If you did the first paragraph, it is pilot controlled flight into terrain, not a bug in Preview.
