I am OUT of patience with this nonsense. It keeps easily slipping into private mode along with changing everything I am working on to the same! The only way to get rid of it is to hard close everything and reboot. SICK of this!

Safari keeps switching to private mode which is impossible to switch back from. Not sure why that was unclear. You would know how annoying it is if it happens to you!

To be clear- when you open a normal tab (not in Private mode) it eventually changes to a Private one?
Try pressing CMD + N when this happens again. It should open a new, non-Private window. Is this what happens?
If the issue persists, try quitting Safari, then opening it again while holding Shift.
Failing that, try restarting in Safe Mode and testing there - Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
