Icon missing from toolbar on Ventura

Running Ventura on a new MacBook Air and the Icon for Dropbox is gone from the toolbar at the top of the screen.

When I go to Finder/View "customize toolbar" is greyed out.

1) Is there a limit to the number of icons? The space looks full, and I would be willing to give up several of the default icons to get Dropbox added.

2) I've consulted Dropbox, with no help there. They have a new update I installed and was thinking it might be a bug on their end. But there is no chatter about anything like this, and 'natch very little knowledge of my environment.

So, is there a bug in my way on Ventura? Or did I do something to cause the option in Finder/View to turn off? I've been looking for a solution and may have tripped a switch I shouldn't have.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I started with Dropbox, reinstalled the app, and can't find a way to accomplish the goal. No other suggestions come from the Dropbox forum, and one suggestion, Finder/View/Customize Toolbar is not available.

Repeating myself in case another reader also skips reading my query before suggesting I go away.

There seems to be a confusion between “Toolbar” and “menu bar”.

The toolbar is the area in top of each window - that is what you modify with View->Customize Toolbar.

The menu bar is at the very top of your screen. As Old Toad said, there is a setting in some applications, including Dropbox, to show icon in the menu bar (the exact wording varies and, of course, not all applications offer this).

Now if you really meant the Toolbar, you can still put an icon there, but you’d have to do so by dragging it in the Finder.

By your definition I am referring to the menu bar at the top of the screen.

I have not found any setting in the Dropbox website to install the icon there.

I have already re-installed the Dropbox app.

I have searched the settings for MacBook Air and tried a variety of changes with no result.

The Dropbox forum has not heard of this issue, and their suggestions focus on finding something wrong on my device or OS.

One new tidbit: I reach Dropbox by clicking Finder/Applications/Dropbox. It displays my Dropbox file folders. There is no toolbar at the top of the window. This doesn't look like I've opened an app, since all the others open with a toolbar at the top of the window.
