I’m running Safari 16.3 on my MacBook Pro 2016 macOS Monterey version 12.6.2 and when I try to access Chase, EBay, Fidelity it crashes. So I had to go over to Chrome. How and why is this happening?

What I have determined from reading many postings on this forum is that Safari is problematic. On some computers. Sometimes an OS upgrade which also upgrades Safari solves a problem, but not in all cases. The solution is to use another browser for problematic web sites as you did.
Solved!! :-) I just reinstalled Monterey 12.6.3 on my imac, took a while, but was worse it.
Safari works cool and nice like before.
When you go to "about this mac" you will be proposed to upgrade to Ventura-what I did NOT do. But if you read "more updates" apple proposes to update safari to 16.3: DON'T!
I think that this should work on macbooks to. Worked on mine - (Macbook pro late 2015 / 15.4")
Try a restart in Safe Mode. Follow the steps in the article below.
Nope. That didn’t work. Still crashing.
Same here (imac 27" late 2019) -but: Safati 16.3 is a pre-version, not the final one. I made the mistake to load ist,
didn't pay attention. :-((
Shoud be fixed with the final version :-)
