A few days ago, my Gmail account that I access using Mac Mail quit syncing with my iPhone. If I delete a message on my phone, it will not delete on my Macbook Pro. I have no problems receiving mail on either device. If I delete a gmail from Mac Mail on my Macbook, it does delete on my phone. Seems to only have issues one direction, when I delete on my phone. It's just not detecting that on my MacBook. Thank you for your help.

I am having same issue but with MacBook. The emails I delete from Gmail account in iPhone via Mail app, does not delete in MacBook. Deleting Gmail account from MacBook Mail did not help me either. Apple must provide a solution for this.
Delete your Gmail account from your phone and add it back. Settings > Mail > Accounts
Using Mac Ventura I went to System Settings/Internet Accounts. Then toggled mail "off" and like magic, all of my emails appeared. I then toggled mail back to "on" and it didn't change. All of my mail is now showing.
until Apple Mail is fixed in macOS Ventura,
obtain+use Thunderbird email-client,
setup your GMail email address inside Thunderbird.
Does not help even when you delete and re install on any Iso Devise :(
