How do I keep main screen free of documents

Erase documents from main screen but not deleting in document folder

Hi Louis-k,

Welcome to the Apple Community.


Some of us keep a folder on the main screen / desktop and drag any valuable documents into that, and / or drag anything unwanted to the trash.

(ie: Just two-finger click the cursor on the main screen / desktop to choose "New Folder")


Else you can open the Documents folder, and drag files from the desktop into that, or make a new folder there, or drag files into any of the folders inside the Documents folder.
