When I put my iMac Ventura screen in SLEEP mode, it won't stay. What can I do?

iMac will not stay asleep! Help please! Ever since I recently updated to Monterey 12.3.6 on my iMac the last issue resolved but now it will not stay in sleep mode. I manually put it to sleep. The screen goes dark and within a second or two it wakes up. Please advise.
