Mac OS Ventura 13.1 - location of downloaded podcast

Need to know where Ventura is storing podcast mp3 files. Have headphones I swim with that require me to copy .mp3 to headphone and since iTunes has gone away Apple has made it more difficult to accomplish this by hiding the location of where mp3 files, specifically podcasts, are stored.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.0

No, that only shows you records that are stored in the 'Download' folder. If you subscribe to a podcast and download it within the Podcasts application on the MacBook, it is not stored in the 'Download' folder. It is stored elsewhere. That's the location I'm trying to find. In Catalina OS it was stored under /Users/'username'/Library/Containers/....... Apple is purposely making this difficult.

Furthermore, that language that you pulled is for listening to the file while offline, but on any Apple device. That's not what I need to do. What I need to do is find the actual location of the file and transfer it to an mp3 player that I use to swim. Go into Podcasts/Download and see for yourself that there is not a means to copy/move the file.

Hi stevefromstafford

Apple's Podcast webpage: Apple Podcasts - Apple

says

"you can find all your downloaded episodes in your library in the Downloaded section"

To find a podcast file:

If you want: just enter the podcast filename in a Finder window's search bar.

OR

You can simply enter .mp3 in a Finder window to see all the .mp3's on Mac.

NB:

Highlight the file you want & see its location displayed in the bottom status bar.

(Find one podcast & you likely find a whole folder of .mp3s.)

Why does apple programmers make it difficult to find what we users think are obvious file locations? Like why aren't these podcasts downloaded to the DOWNLOADS folder? Seems logical place to put them.

Mostly because Apple doesn't expect you to manage downloaded podcasts manually. They are working on the assumption that you will use the Podcast app. And it has a much easier time managing them if they are in a discrete location that only that app uses.

The Downloads folder is a giant junk drawer for most people.
