If I hide photos that are in a shared album with someone, can they still see the photos?

To add to Ralf's great reply: When you share a photo in a shared album, photos is sharing a new copy of the photo, especially created for sharing. The shared version is downsized and most metadata will be stripped for privacy reasons. Anything you are doing with the original photo in your own library will have no effect at all on the shared copy in the library. You can delete the original, hide it, or add adjustments to shared photo; the subscribers to the shared album will still only see the photo as you shared it originally.
The photos in your shared album are independent from the photos in your photos library.
Therefore they should be still visible, even when the other photo is hidden.
