Music from Apple Watch cuts out

Apple Watch 6 with AirPods Pro (1st gen)

Whenever I try to play music downloaded to my apple watch it will play for about 10 seconds at a slower tempo then the audio cuts out. Restarting will fix it temporally but the next day I will go to the gym and I will have to restart my watch again to have music play properly through my AirPods.

Hey there Jesseondrums,

Great job on trying a restart of your watch! We'd like to confirm more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some other possible causes:

  1. You mentioned this occurs while your AirPods are paired with your watch, but does the same issue occur if you test playing downloaded music using only the built-in speaker?
  2. What occurs if you test a different set of Bluetooth headphones, or does the same issue occur?
  3. When did this first start?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and How to restart your Apple Watch
  5. If you're paired with a compatible iPhone model, the latest version for it would be iOS 16.2. You can verify this in your iPhone under Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  6. We understand that you have an Apple Watch Series 6, but from your post, it shows watchOS 4 is installed on it. The latest version for your model would be watchOS 9.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to Update your Apple Watch.

Cheers!
