Computer icon on desktop

I just did something, I don't really remember what but now there is a laptop icon on my desktop with MacBook of "my name" beneath it. When i click it, it shows me a folder of the computer's applications, etc... I would like to hide this because it's not practical since I won't use it ever...

Can someone help?
