Mouse and trackpad scroll direction

I just switched to a new Macbook 16" with Ventura from an iMac 2013 with Catalina

I am used to using the trackpad in natural scroll direction and the mouse in the opposite direction. Since switching to the new computer I keep tripping up because for some reason the mouse scroll direction and trackpad scroll direction are tied together. The settings are in two different locations, but one changes the other.

It seems odd that changing the mouse also changes the trackpad. Is this something they may be fixing or something they think is a feature? Too many years using it one way to want to force myself to swap up. Old dog, new tricks... same old apple "features" though.

You can try the third party—https://pilotmoon.com/scrollreverser/

No resolve— use one or the other...

On a Notebook I never saw a need for a external mouse...(?)
