Printer for High Sierra 10.13.6

Any suggestions on a compatible basic printer for this older MAC? I purchased an inexpensive Cannon years ago and it wouldn't work. I am a senior who is not very tech savy but up for a challenge ;) Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

I suggest that you search and look for printers which (1) have the features you want and (2) offer a printer driver app that will work with your computer's operating system version.
