Import of mail failed after system update. Mail Message says "make sure you have available space in your home folder and try again." How do I do that?

If you click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen and select About This Mac, then the Storage tab on top, you will find an option to manage storage on your hard drive. If you click on it, selecting one or more of the options in that window will help to free up space.

Be sure that your trash is empty, as well. Undeleted material there takes up space until emptied.
