Why won’t my iPad or my iPhone 13pro do a iCloud back up when they show I’m only using about 2.9 g of the 5g I try and do a back up now and it says there’s not enough storage left. About a month or so ago I dumped a bunch of pictures on both devices

Why won’t either devices do a iCloud back up when I’m only using about 2.9g of the 5g. Neither my iPhone 13 pro or my iPad Pro will do a icoud Back up since September I deleted and dumped many photos and videos around that time to make more space available since that time I can’t do a back up it says I don’t have enough space available.

Hello Toddybo,

Let's use the steps below to check the size of your next backup to see if it exceeds the available space remaining:

1. In iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings > [your name].

2. Tap iCloud. At the top, you can check how much iCloud storage you've used.

3. Tap Manage Account Storage or Manage Storage.

4. Tap Backups, then tap the device you're using. Under Last Backup and Backup Size, you can check Next Backup Size. It may take a few minutes for your device to calculate Next Backup Size.

5. If your backup needs more space than the amount you have available in iCloud, you can:

• Delete information that you don't need to reduce the size of your backup

• Upgrade your iCloud+ plan to get more space

Thanks for the information. I followed the steps on my iPad I deleted more things and turned off a lot of apps I don’t need back ups on also. It says next backup is 2.7g it was 3.5g before I made those changes but it still won’t back up it says there’s not enough storage. I don’t get it it says I get 5gb free iCloud and only using like half of it. But it always says the same thing. I’m gonna domthe same on my iPhone it has about the same amount being used of the iCloud. It won’t back up either. Any other thoughts let me know thanks Todd
