How to get Apple TV app on Amazon Fire Stick to remember where you stopped watching a show?

Whether you pause a show for too long, the app crashes, or you turn the tv off for the night - the Apple TV app doesn’t remember where you stopped watching.

I’ve seen a lot of people asking the same question online but I haven’t found a working answer.

I’m having to remember or write down the time on the timeline of a show to be able to return to the show at a later time and pick up where I left off. There don’t seem to be any settings where this can be turned on or off.

Hoping Apple can fix this as it’s so annoying I don’t want to continue my subscription.
