iPhone 14 Pro Max randomly puts calls on hold

My iPhone 14 Pro Max is randomly putting calls on hold while I’m on the phone. I will be hands free on speaker when it happens too.

Hello Kdunn2200,

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

1. Does this happen with all calls, or only calls with certain contacts?

2. Do you receive any errors or messages when the calls are placed on hold?

3. When the issue happens are you able to resume the call without an issue?

4. You mentioned that the issue will happen when using speakerphone; when using speakerphone, are you usually holding the device?

5. Does it seem like the screen is being touched, when it's not being pressed?

That information will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also check out this link, which has some information on how to manage phone calls and use the Hold option, which may help: While on a call on iPhone

Adjust the audio during a call

To change the volume, press the volume buttons on the side of iPhone. Or swipe down on the call banner, then do any of the following:

• Mute: Tap the mute button.
• Put the call on hold: Touch and hold the mute button.
• Talk handsfree: Tap the audio button, then choose an audio destination.

Thanks!
