Two external monitors only recognized as a single monitor, 2017 Macbook Pro w/touchbar

I have two external monitors connected to my 2017 15" Macbook Pro (C02VC97XHTD6) via a hub. One is connected via HDMI the other DP. The monitors both work but Display only recognizes one and so they both display the same. I haven't used them since the pandemic, but prior to that, they worked independently in closed mode when I was running Mojave or Catalina. Now, even in closed mode, the OS (Monterey) only recognizes them as a single monitor.

When I try Detect Displays they both turn off into power save mode, though plugging and unplugging the thunderbolt/USB-C connection fixes that.

In display arrangement and settings, they are never seen as two monitors. They are only 1680x1050. Tech Specs says I should be able to support 4 monitors, and in fact had no problems with the two monitors nearly 3 years ago.
