Can not receive text from certain people

For the last 4 days I am not able to receive text from what appear to be just android contacts. They receive my texts but are unable to reply to me. The receive “not sent, tap to try again” error on their end and I just think they are not responding to me. I have done every trouble shooting step it appears google provided.

update software

made sure sms is on

no filtering
