WHY CAN'T I EXCLUDE ITEMS FROM BACKUP

I started a backup with time machine on an external hard drive. I want to include all the assets on my macbook but also another external hard drive (which is not the backup hard drive ofc)

But I can't exclude it in the list because I can't select it.

Does anyone know why I can't select my other external hard drive that this one is included in the back up as well?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.14

Time machine backs up ONLY drives that are in native Mac formats, because it needs Mac data structures for reasonably fast backup performance.

If you never ERASED that drive when new, it is likely still in factory fresh Windows New Technology File System (NTFS) format, and your added software is simulating a Mac Volume on an NFTS drive.
