Apps bouncing but not opening

My macbook pro was just fixed and everything was wiped as a result. I just reinstalled zoom and it just bounces on the task bar but won't open. I don't have sophos on there so can't uninstall it.

Hi rhia256,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with opening zoom after installing it. We'd like to help.

Is the Zoom app the only app you're having issue with? It looks like you may have tried to uninstall it but you're running into issues. Are you getting an error message? If so, what exactly does it say.

There are some steps that can be done to help with this issue:

If you can’t open an app on Mac
You may not have the privileges to open the app, the app may be damaged, or it may not be installed.

* If you aren’t an administrator of your Mac, the administrator may be preventing you from using the app. Contact the administrator of your Mac.
* You may be trying to open an app that is not registered with Apple by an identified developer. If you want, you can open an app from an unidentified developer
* If you recently installed a new version of macOS, some apps may need to be updated or reinstalled. See Install and uninstall apps from the internet or disc.

Let us know more about what is going on and we'll continue to help.

Take care!
