Migration from hard and SSD drives to another iMac

I have a mid 2011 iMac, with an 1 TB hard drive and 500 Mb added SSD drive.

Now I want to migrate to another iMac (same as previous iMac 21.5, but with just 1 TB SSD) with time machine. I used migration assistant , but these hard drives appeared separately, I need the content of both to restore. what should I do?

What's on the SSD and what's on the 1TB HDD?

I'm guessing you're booting from the SSD so that's the one you want to migrate from.

Then you can copy the contents of the 1TB HDD to appropriate folders on the new Mac. To do that you can connect the two in Target Disk Mode with the old iMac in the Target Disk Mode.

To be completely honest, migrating from a larger storage to smaller storage is no really recommended as it creates quite a problem. I would recommend returning the new iMac and buying the model with the 1TB SSD. Then migrate by following the steps in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant
