Highlighting Tesxt
Suddenly I can't highlight a block of text. The text is selected but does not show a highlighted colour. I've searched everywhere but I can not find a solution to this problem!

The "usual drill" would be:
Restart, preferably using the 'hold the power button for ten seconds' SMC-reset-Equivalent.
run in Safe Mode, where no third-party anything is loaded automatically
create a new User, log in as that user, and see if the problem follow your User account
