Audio drop out on external DAC

I've got an M1 MacBook Pro (16Gb RAM), running Ventura, fully patched and am using an external DAC (Chord Mojo) over USB to an external analogue amp. When playing audio it frequently (but randomly) cuts the audio for a sub second. I don't get this issue when using internal speakers.

It's basically making the system un-usable for external audio. I've also tried a new Chord Mojo 2 (thinking the issue was the DAC) and it has the same problem. I've also tried an iFi Signature (thinking it may be a Chord issue) but it has the same problem.

I've seen various threads on the topic but nothing that indicates a solid fix. Would appear to be an Apple-side problem.

Hi,

I have. They say it's an Apple OS problem and they can't do anything about it. I've tried DAC's from various manufacturers. Same problem. So I think it's a problem with MacOS. It isn't a problem with the Intel Mac's or with Windows.

No one at Apple seems to be taking it seriously though. It is a well recorded issue for well over a year. What should I do? It is very repeatable if someone wants to get in touch...
