Creating an Artist List

I just started a trial subscription to Apple Music & am learning to navigate my way. I know how to download songs/albums into my own Library. However, if (for example) I hear music from particular artists that I enjoy, is there a way to create lists of these artists (or artist "stations")within Apple Music without downloading them? Thank you for your help.

Hi kitjv,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. In this case, it may help to favorite these artists. that way, you won't have to add songs but can easily find them in Listen Now. The following guidance is from Add and see your favorite artists in Apple Music on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Android - Apple Support.

"How to add favorite artists in Apple Music

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. Search for an artist and go to their artist page.
  3. At the top of the artist's page, tap Add to Favorites Add to Favorites

If you don't see an option to add an artist to favorites:

How to see favorite artists in Apple Music

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. Go to Listen Now.
  3. Scroll down to Favorite Artists."

All the best.

kitjv,

Thanks for following up with us. To double-check, are you using iOS 16.1.2 on your device? You can check under Settings > General > About.

Also, when you open Apple Music and tap Listen Now and scroll down, what do you have there instead of the option for Favorite Artists?

Have you tried a restart yet? That could help, depending on exactly what you see when you check the above: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right
  3. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  4. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."
