I got an apple pencil gen 1 for my iPad (9th gen) . It only works with intermittently. I check the tip and even replace with new apple tip... Still having the same problem
Even when it is connected when I touch the iPad w apple pencil it is will not working. Nothing happened. Sometimes it works but only for a moment then it stop working again. I got so frustrated trying to make it work. I searched on YouTube and tried all suggestions still no luck

Time to use the Support” link, in the top black menu bafr, at the upper right hand corner of every Apple Support Community Webpage to attempt to schedule an appointment with your nearest Apple Store location.
Bring both your iPad and Pencil for testing and diagnosis and options presented to you.
