I tried holding in the power button but an apple came up and then the computer went back off

How can I repair my macbook pro? It will not start up. When I hold in the power button the apple comes up and then disappears and powers back off.

What is the exact model of your Mac? You can get this information by entering the system serial number here:

Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support


What version of macOS is being used?


Make sure to disconnect all external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.


Were there any issues before this power on issue occurred? Did you intentionally power off the laptop or did it power off on its own?
