AirPod Pro 2 Noise Cancellation Inferior to Pro 1

I just upgraded to the AirPod Pro 2 because they are supposed to have superior noise cancellation than the AirPod Pro 1. However, I hear much more street noise, wind, and conversations with v2 than with my v1.

I tried all 4 earbud sizes - the medium pass the fit test but the lack luster noise cancellation persists. And yes, I do have noise cancellation enabled in settings.

Toggling noise cancellation on only causes a very minor decrease in background noises. So it is doing something, but no where near the amount of noise cancellation that my AirPod Pro 1 provide.

Has anyone else experienced this?
