Unable to change display brightness

Why can't I change the screen brightness after changing the display profile? (I'm using Macbook Pro 16 M1 Max)

Hello PritamMalakar,

It sounds like you might be using a preset reference mode. We found "For each mode, your display adjusts its color and brightness characteristics to match the requirements for that media workflow. To ensure consistency across your workflow, the number of options available in Displays settings changes or is limited, depending on the mode you select." in the top section here: Change Displays settings on Mac - Apple Support

If that's the case, you may be using a mode that doesn't allow for adjusting the brightness. If that isn't what's happening, have you checked to make sure it isn't set to adjust automatically? Here's how to check: Change your Mac display’s brightness - Apple Support

Automatically adjust brightness
1. If your Mac has an ambient light sensor, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Displays  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

2. Turn on “Automatically adjust brightness” on the right.

If you don’t see the “Automatically adjust brightness” option, you can manually adjust the brightness.

Keep us posted.

Take care!
