FINDER FOR VENTURA CORRUPT?

Please be advised there is a bug or issue with Finder for Ventura

When attempting to navigate to all my external hard-drives from finder

I open the external hard drive- navigate to the folder I want to open (i.e. music or movie folder)

and when I click on the folder it takes 10-20 seconds for the contents of the folder to come up instead of opening instantly? Is anyone else experiencing this? It cannot be my Ex-Hard Drives because I have 3 of them connected and they are all in perfect working order AND I was to experiencing this issue with Monterey

none of these were ever an issue before Ventura...

It was for me and the USB hub. Also, the spin down was a horrible delay, so I turned it off. The settings are not in the GUI, but they still exist with the underlying pmset command.

I can't replicate your problem, but I have seen things that result in similar behavior.

If you don't want to try to sort out your problem, I won't bother with any other suggestions.

Another possibility is if you had it set to not put hard drives to sleep, and somehow that has been turned off, so they do go to sleep, I noticed it seem to take a long time to access and spin up the drives when I turned it off to test. I don’t know if it seemed like a long time because I’ve always kept them spinning and forgot how long it took or if it seems to take longer.

I have the same issue. My Time Machine disk/external drive is a 4Tb G-Drive. I produce books so the back up is important to me every day. All working fine before the Ventura install. Over three days a number of peculiar behaviours, wireless mouse and keyboard will disconnect. A hard reboot gets them back working, but not a restart.

As for the G-drive, connection disappeared. check cables, change ports, check with other USB, all fine. Run Disk Utility, First Aid, takes 12 hours, errors listed include invalid directory count, invalid file count, invalid volume free, eventually when done, mount G-drive, works fine for 5 hours. Then connection gone again. back to Disk Utility, but external drive not listed, get this error message.

"Could not mount “G-DRIVE”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930874.)"

anticipate a command in Terminal is needed. would you know of?
