My CarPlay normally connects ok… sometimes I have to unplug and reconnect to start CarPlay… but recently, on iOS 16, I’ve had a new problem - intermittently, the mmi buttons (back, scrolling, etc) stop working, meaning I can’t navigate the CarPlay functions/apps. I can get it to work using Siri - just not manually.

Are these the buttons on your stereo in the Audi or on the iPhone itself?
Have you tried to forget the vehicle and pair it back to the vehicle yet? If not, we'd try that out first: If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support
In case the issue continues to occur, if it's the buttons on your vehicle then you'll want to contact the manufacturer to inform them of the issue.
