Mac doesnt stay off when in clamshell mode

Good morning everyone!

I am switching to Mac after a lifetime on Windows and encounter a first difficulty, for which I cannot find a solution.

I'm using my MacBook Pro M1 connected to a small hub (USB-C), in order to connect an external monitor via HDMI + ethernet cable and USB printer.

The lid is always closed.

My problem is that when I put it to stop, the Mac turns on again punctually after a few seconds, maybe even just by touching the mouse on the desk (sometimes even without touching anything).

How can I prevent this from happening?

At the moment I unplug the USB-C cable from the Mac every time, but I don't think this is the most convenient solution.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

How can I do this?

Thank you very much for your help.

thank you for your answer, but my problem is the opposite: the Mac turns on when it should not.

when I want to leave the desk, it always happens that the (external) monitor turns on again, even if I did not touch anything… or maybe just touched the mouse (it’s on the desk, so it might happen to touch it)

Is there no way to prevent this from happening?
