printer driver for samsung scx 4500

Does anybody know if there is a driver for the old samsung scx 4500 printer that can be used with MacOS Ventura?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

You could possibly carry out an experiment with a universal driver. This may or may not work with your printer. It may be a good idea to begin by resetting the printing system (see link below). It may be worth checking whether the latest (September 29, 2022) V3.93.06 Samsung universal print driver for macOS 12 could be used in this case. The idea would be to re-add your printer while choosing to use software for one of the printer models included (you may have to try several, such as various SCX and M models).

If this does not work, a discussion samsung ML1670 printer driver - Apple Community could perhaps be of some interest. The workaround described by Matti Haveri in the discussion (for another model) is intended to avoid a problem with a downloaded package not opening/installing under the latest operating system versions. The article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support lists a Samsung SCX-4500 Series version 2.01.02 driver.

Before testing any printer driver, make sure that you have multiple backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera). Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.
