Fontbook won't load some iterations without overwriting

Since updating to Ventura, I've found Font Book to be temperamental. All fonts are from reputable foundries, but some will only load one weight at a time, if I install bold it disables regular for example. Any work arounds?

Font Book - De-activates Duplicate Fonts (Different Weights) Hi community, I've downloaded a font in two different weights. When I download one, it deactivates the other and vice versa. I've tried the "keep both" option when downloading and adding to Font Book and they do both appear, but one is greyed out and shows as "not active". How do I fix this so both are active please? Font Book permanently not responding As soon as Font Book is launched the spinning wheel appears which won't allow me to interact with anything - including the toolbar so I cannot restore standard fonts or delete anything through Font Book. I've tried deleting all fonts through Users/Library/Font and Font Collections (I can't delete the folders so just the contents) and nothing changed. I've tried searching anything with a font file ext (.ttf, .otf etc) and deleting all files. I've tried the Safe Boot restart trick to clear the cache but that also hasn't worked. When I launch Font Book it still says I have 339 fonts which means the fonts are still on my computer somewhere. This is really inconvenient for me as I work as a graphic designer and this prevents me from being able to download new fonts ( or use the ones I've now deleted). Please help!!!

Pages has dropped a font I use a lot! We are talking Garamond. Last time I used it was November 2023. It was among the fonts that were "just there" when I set up Pages on my new Mac in 2021. This afternoon I found my way to All Fonts in the Font Book; I was shown 327 fonts, but NO Garamond. I hope someone can provide an explanation and a solution. I'm a home user who does some local newsletters, and hope to avoid the world of fonts intended for professional graphic designers. Thank you. MacBook Air, M1 2020, Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1

Let's use the steps in the following resource to see if you experience that same behavior while in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

It can take a few extra minutes to boot into safe mode. Your screen may flash or flicker while in safe mode. Those behaviors are expected. Testing in safe mode runs a check on your disk, removes some cached files, and can help isolate conflicts with startup items. Once you've tested that behavior in safe mode, you can restart to leave safe mode.
