Siri can’t find contact to call but can to text. Why?

When I ask Siri to text one of my contacts she will find it , but if I ask her to call the contact she says she can’t find. Seems to have started with last iOS upgrade to 16.1.1. Siri settings are all on for access to contacts so don’t understand the issue. If I dictate a phone number to her she calls it and contact name does appear on call screen. Any suggestions?

Hello tv46,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Let's restart your iPhone and test:

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears. The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

More details can be found here: Restart your iPhone

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? What is your exact iOS version? Does this happen on cellular data as well as Wi-Fi? Also, does this happen with all contacts?

Cheers!
