Keynote flickering screen problem

Hello,

I’ve got a very particular problem with Keynote on my M1 MacBook Air. Everything was working fine but after the MacOS update to Ventura I’m having an issue. While connected to a second monitor (TV, projector, monitor) and in presentation mode the screen on my MacBook starts to flicker. But it only happens when I move the lid. I know that it look like a mechanical problem with the lid BUT it only happens with Keynote and ONLY when the presentation is in progress. I can have a second monitor hooked up to my computer and nothing happens. It also doesn’t occur whit Power Point. The issue of flickering screen ONLY happens when I’m in Keynote and I’m in presentation, meaning on my MacBook I have a presenter screen and the presentation is displayed on the second screen. When I move the lid up and down the screen on my MacBook stars to flicker. It is very odd and strange. I’ve tested couple of HDMI adapter and hubs. I’ve tested it on a DP to USB-C cable whit the same result. Everything is updated.

Hi aleksander217,

Updating apps can often correct unexpected behavior, so if there's an update available for Keynote, start by installing it to see if that helps.

If the issue persists, create a new Administrator account and test it out. This will help with identifying if the issue is specific to one account: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac.

Hello aleksander217,

Thanks for trying in a test user. You can delete the test user you created to test.

Next, run safe mode. See if the issue is occurring there also, after it clears the caches and corrects any disk issues: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

So far we know we have a system wide issue. Safe mode will check the disk, and if it's occurring there, a reinstall of macOS may help.

Thanks for your reply MVegas21. As I mentioned the laptop and the Keynote app are updated. I’ve tried with another administrator account and the problem still occurs. I’m still having the same problem.

I am having the exact same problem with a flickering second screen in presentation mode in Keynote on my MacBook Pro M1. I have installed the latest version of Keynote. I have done everything suggested above. I have run safe mode. After some time the problem reappears. I have reinstalled Ventura. After some time the problem reappears. I have the same problem regardless of whether I connect the second screen via the Thunderbolt port or via the HDMI port on an external adapter. It is most frustrating since I am dependent on Keynote for theatrical lectures that I make, and I cannot perform with a flickering screen.

I have this same issue. Connected to projector macbook screen starts flickering when entering keynote presentation. It only happens with keynote. Starts even without touching the lid. I am running an M1 13inch pro with Ventura.

I am having the exact same problem. Keynote open, connected to external screen, flashing macbook pro monitor. All is updated. In fact, in didn't start doing this until I updated both iOS and Keynote. It is hard to use this for work when it doesn't work. I have tried all the above "fixes" with no luck. Apple better hurry with some help here.

Same problem. Bought this mac to have a more stable presentation environment. The opposite seems to be the case.
