Can I pay a yearly subscription upfront instead of the monthly?

Hi, I am wondering whether it is possible for me to pay upfront for a year storage subscription instead of the monthly one?

Has anyone ever tried this?

Hello stevebanza,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Although it looks like iCloud+ is only available monthly, you may be able to use your Apple ID balance as the payment method. You can add funds to your Apple ID balance to cover future purchases and subscriptions, if a single payment is what you'd prefer. You'll want to confirm the pricing in your region if that is something you'd like to try, and you can find more details in this resource: Upgrade to iCloud+ - Apple Support

After you upgrade, your storage and features are available immediately, and your monthly payment date reflects the purchase date for your plan. If you upgrade from one paid plan to another, we’ll cancel your existing plan and charge you the prorated cost of your new, larger plan.

You're billed every month for iCloud+ unless you downgrade or cancel your plan. Each month you'll get an email to remind you of your upcoming payment.

Learn about iCloud+ plans and pricing in your region.

As for using your Apple ID balance, take a look at the following resource: What you can buy with your Apple Gift Card or Apple Account balance - Apple Support

We hope that helps to address your question.

Take care!
