credibility of delivery date mentioned in Apple Store

I don't exactly know in which subforum to ask this question. Hopefully I'm right...

We know all about the problems in the Foxconn factory in China.

Besides that, there's a delivery date of 27 December 2022 for an iPhone 14 pro max on the website of Apple.

Strange date, when the factory doesn't produce.

Does somebody knows something about this delivery date, how does Apple knows this?

tnx

Gert

It’s just an estimate based on Apple’s information about their supply chain. FoxConn has factories in at least six other countries, and the iPhone 14 is being assembled by FoxConn at its plant in India as of September I think. So the supply chain situation is not static, and thus the estimates of availability and delivery dates change all the time.

News has been reporting since last year that Apple and FoxConn have been working at diversifying the assembly of iPhones and iPads so as to reduce reliance on Foxconn’s China centers.

So I would take the estimated delivery date for what it is - an estimate in an ever changing global supply chain system. FoxConn itself has reported issues with assembly due to varying deliveries of essential components this year and last.

Thanks for this. I didn't know nothing about the production of iPhones.

People told me the Foxconn factory in China is the one and only who produces the iPhone 14 pro (max). So the date of 27th December is just an estimation. Probably the Apple guys are guessing of the reopening of the factory by that date.

All the stuff I previously ordered at the Apple site was available. Never ordered something based on a delayed delivery date.
