How do I I get access to iPhotos on my new M1 MacBook Pro

I can't access iPhotos on New MacBook Pro, the old MacBook is 32 bit and the new MacBook is 64 bit, how can I recover and see 7000 photos stored on old laptop?

If you're running Ventura on the new M1 you will not be able to migrate an iPhoto library to Photos. The last system to be able to do that was Monterey.


If you can get your library on an external drive and connect it to a Mac running Monterey or earlier you can migrate the library to Photos. Then connect the EHD to your M1 and update it to the latest Photos version.
