Time shifting back an hour

Last night, the time on my phone automatically shifted back an hour. I have not traveled- I was in bed in the same time zone. I nearly missed a large presentation to a customer. This is the second time it happened in the last month.

Hi NEPsterSF,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! If the time zone on your device is not accurate, we would recommend the steps below that may help:

If you can't change the time or time zone on your Apple device

1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
2. Turn on Set Automatically1 in Settings > General > Date & Time. This automatically sets your date and time based on your time zone.
3. If a message appears saying that updated time zone information is available, restart your device and any paired Apple Watch.
4. Allow your device to use its current location to determine the correct time zone. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and turn on Setting Time Zone.
5. Check that your device shows the correct time zone in Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

I have a similar problem. Try contacting your network provider as the iPhone may load the time info from the internet or GPS. I have a similar problem. I was listening to the radio and there was a time announcement. It was a coincidence that I've checked my phone, and noticed, that either the radio was delayed (I highly doubt it as the FM waves are travelling, let's say instantly) or my iPhone was five minutes forward. Apple support operator walked me through a few steps, that worked, maybe, I am not really sure. Change the calendar to buddhist and restart your phone, then change it back to Gregorian and restart it again. You may want to get a mechanic alarm clock (no electronics at all) to be a 100% sure.
