No sound via HDMI adaptor post iOS 16 update.

After my husband and I updated our iPhone 12mini and 13 pro to iOS 16 the sound stopped working when we try to use certain apps to watch content on the tv. For us, the spectrum app, Hulu, and Prime specifically. HBO just won’t load at all any more and Disney & netflix seem to work fine. We are using an apple adaptor to a Vizio tv, but have tried other tvs. We’ve tried uninstalling the apps and putting them back on with no success. The app starts fine and the picture and sound comes on to play commercials just fine (go figure) but when the show comes on there is picture but no sound. Alternately if I start the show on my phone it will play fine with audio and then as soon as I plug in the adaptor I get a gray screen on the tv but can hear the sound. My iPad, which has not been updated works fine still on these apps. Please help.
