accidentally moved photos to portable drive
When trying to free up photos on my computer, I accidentally moved my photos library to a portable drive. How do I get it back?

When it's back in place, you may have two Photos Libraries. Go to Photos>Preferences>General make sure the Library Location is the one you want, and that it's your System Library. (If Use as System Library is grayed out, it means the library it shows is already the System Library.)

erm, copy back to a APFS (or Mac OS Extended volume)?
Moving back to APS where photos program is worked! I thought it would copy, not completely remove the app so I could open it without portable drive plugged in. All is well now
