Mac charging when connected to external monitor via usb c

Hi, I often use the mac connected to a Benq EX2780Q external monitor via usb c. By doing so, however, the mac is always charging even if in reality it is not charging because the power supplied by the usb c port of the monitor is only 5W. Is there any way to disable charging through that usb port from the mac? Could it create long-term battery problems in your opinion?

None whatsoever.

Presenting power does NOT charge the battery. Your Mac uses 'smart charging', and only actually does battery recharging when necessary.
