My iMac Pro crashes and restarts in Sleep.

Since 2 weeks ago my iMac Pro crashes every night when in sleep mode.

Seen this have been a long going issue for others as well. I have owned this computer for 3 years and of-curse my apple care just ended a few months ago. Never had this problem before.

Im running the last Mojave build. (No, Im not upgrading since I need 32-bit support)

Is till crashing when I'm away from the computer with the recommended settings above. When chosing "manual rest" on the apple menu... still crashes. Sigh.

Hope its not a hardware issue. It suddenly just started. I have used the machine for 3 years and my power settings never failed. But when I read this forum numerous people have had the same issue with even out of the box machines.

Yea' some macOS versions on some Mac models, will sleep from the dropdown menu without crashing and others will crash every time.

So that leaves many with display sleep 24-7, display sleep during the day and then shutting down over night.

We have no idea if Apple plans on releasing a patch for this issue in the next Mojave Security update. We can only continue to send feedback to Apple about this issue and hope that they address it.

That is true!

The problem is getting Apple to fix it in Mojave and later macOS's.

Check "Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping...." and only allow the display to turn off during the day.

Then test Sleep from the Apple dropdown menu over night and/or Shutdown each night.

I updated unwillingly four days ago to Monterey. No crash so far. It also updates the firmware. Hope it will stay stable.

I'm glad to hear that. Sorry that you had to move away from Mojave's 32-bit support, but Monterey has been solid for us on several different Mac models.

Today it crashed and restarted again. Oh well. :-( It worked for 5 days at least.
