Windows 7 boot option disappeared

Hello everyone!

I hope apple community will help me with my issue.

Long story short, I have 2 hard drives installed on my mac, one for mac os and the other drive had 2 partitions one for windows and the other for my files just for storage. 2 days ago I upgraded my Macbook Pro mid 2012 from El Capitan to High Sierra. After upgrade my Windows 7 worked perfectly with Bootcamp, when I restarted my mac and hold option key windows 7 was there and booted fine.

Yesterday I opened my disk utility app and found some unknown partition using 102 gigs, I couldnt remember what is was so i deleted it (it was on my hard drive with windows and storage) after i tried using windows 7 it disappeared as an option only MacOS.

I can still access my windows files on finder but cannot boot Win 7.

Please help!!!

Sounds like you deleted part of Windows. If you don't have a backup of the data from the Windows install, then I suggest you make a backup of those files while you still can. Then use BootCamp Assistant to reinstall Windows 7. You may need to first use BootCamp Assistant to remove the Windows BootCamp partition first.

Also, make sure you have a good backup of the data from your macOS partition before doing anything else, just in case something goes wrong.

So I deleted windows partition with disk utility. Tried to install windows 7 with bootcapm assistant, made partition for win 7 and when mac restarts white screen appeared and thothing happens.

PS I have 2 hard drives, one SSD with MacOS located in optical bay another HDD in main bay where win7 was installed previously (I want my win7 on HDD, separately from MacOS.

PPS I had the same issue lake 8 years ago when I was installing win7 but i do not remember how I solved it =(
